Breeding guinea pigs :)

Could I please have some information/tips for breeding guinea pigs?

Don't worry its not for me , my friend is breeding two of her pigs for the first time (they are from a breeder , not a paet shop - don't know what the breeder was like mind but she had been breeding for 10 years apparently)

I figured , as I will probably end up helping quite a lot I should get knowleged up a bit

Thnks guys

Re: Breeding guinea pigs :)

My advice would be to advise ur friend not to do it. There are so many guinea pigs without a home already, what if they can't rehome them? How old is your friend? x

Does your friend have the money, time and space for them? Have both piggies had full health tests?

I know nothing about breeding but I do know you need a lot of money and time thats for sure!

Unless they are rare or show winning examples of the species then I would try to advise her not to, what reason has she given for wanting to do it? If she insists then I would tell her to contact their breeder and ask if she would talk her through the ins and outs of it.
