Gerbils chirping loudly?

My gerbils chirp and chatter to each other almost constantly.... I have read that if they chirp, it means they are not happy with each other but they have never had a falling out before and get on brilliantly with one another, but i've only ever read that it's a sign of aggression or a challenge?

Is it possible that they just like to communicate with each other?

Re: Gerbils chirping loudly?

Sandy and Dusky used to chirp when I whistled. Imagine the shiock it gave me when I first did it! they used to chirp to each other occassionally. They stopped doing it in the end and somehow silently communicated to each other. They never had a falling out in their life.
