Cool will get one tomorrow when I go get the new wheel. How soon should we start trying to handle him? I didn't want to over whelm him yesterday as he was in a new place and cage. Should I leave him another day to settle?

Re: New Hamster owner

Start giving him a little treat like a choccy drop when he comes out of his nest and to the bars. He will quickly learn that hands are a good thing! Then you can start picking him up and it doesn't really take hammies long to learn humans are good Most don't even bite, I can't remember when I was last bitten by a hammy!

Re: New Hamster owner

You can weave cardboard through the levels too, that way it won't move with use.

As for taming, I found this guide really helpful.
