Re: help for my piggies please

He might have damaged his eye , cookie got this and I was worrying to god about her , started bossing cocoa and our summer lodgers bubble and squeak around , we seperated her until it clered up ... When we went to the vet they said it was most probably poked in the eye by hay and to keep an eye on it and after that she was fine ,

hope your piggy is ok , keep us updated

Re: help for my piggies please

Hi all,

Thanks for your reasuring words, I prey you are right. All has been good today Dylan & Boris have been together all day and not one fight or chase. I had hell of a job to get the oral antibiotics into Dylan, and he seems his old self again singing away! Fingers crossed this will continue. Back to vets Monday so I should know more then.

Thanks all xxxxx

Re: help for my piggies please

Hi all,

An up-date.......... I went back to my vets yesterday and saw a specialist in eye problems for Dylan, it has turned out Dylan is blind, both eyes.... no other problems to worry about......... Apparently it is rare in piggies and Dylan is just unlucky. It was not caused by truma or infection problably hereditory.. I have been adivised to watch incase his eyes get watery as blind animals don't blink as much, but in all he's ok. All this explains his behaviour as he was problably firghtened, but all is calm and peaceful again. I have made a point now not to move or disrupt his home with any changes which will frighten him and as his brother Boris is gentle they should carry on as normal. He is still up and down his ramps and singing away so i feel so much happier. Now I know why Dylan was meant to come to me. we all love him and he should have a long and happy life. xx
Thank you to all who gave such reasuring words and comfort.
