Picky hamster

Hello

I'm currently giving my hamster 3g of Harry Hamster mix and 3g of Pets at Home Muesli but there has been a bit of selective feeding going on. He tends to pick out all of the seeds and peanuts but leaves the chunky pellets. Does anyone know of a complete pellet-only hamster food that is available?

Thanks
Jo

Myth will become famous soon enough
Re: Picky hamster

Almost all hamsters leave the Alfalfa(?) Pellets
(the dark brown stick type pellets found in most mixes)
Nothing to worry over really so long as the rest is getting eaten.

There are complete nugget type foods out there to prevent 'selective feeding' but personally wouldn't recommend.

Re: Picky hamster

The pellets are Alfafa based and most hamsters leave them. Do not worry too much as these have little nutritional value anyway. Personally, I would stick with a high quality museli type food like Harry Hamster, although there are pellet type hamster foods available (P@H do one - Hamster Nuggets 750gm by Pets at Home | Pets at Home).

Lots of hamsters on the hamster forums I use have disliked pellet type foods.
