Rat Wheel?

I got a Wheel for my 2 girl's, think it's the silent spinner, not sure, didn't say it on the box but it look's exactly like it.

I put it at the bottom left hand corner of my Jenny just on its bracket in the cage but the girl's arn't interested and have just kicked all there flooring over it lol.

Would it be best to sort of suspend it a but higher up on the actual bar's? So they have to jump up and in it? Then maybe they will get the idea cause right now they are not interested.

If that doesnt work any idea's what i can use it for instead for them? Be a shame to waste £15 lol.

Re: Rat Wheel?

Hi, I got a wheel and neither my 3 girls who it was bought for or the two boys I have just now bothered with it - one of my girls was a bit freaked out by it moving to be honest :/
If they arent wanting to use it then you could sell it on ebay and buy them something else? As its not been used at all really you should get the same money back for it...that way everyones a winner

Re: Rat Wheel?

Give them a few weeks to get used to it - rats often need the time to adjust to a new object that they're not used to. It took my very first pair over a month to learn how to get in/enjoy a hammock!

Re: Rat Wheel?

I agree with Argent, give them time to get used to it, my lot love their wheels but it had to smell like them first

Re: Rat Wheel?

I bought a wheel for my boys.. They were frightened to death of it.. they avoided that part of the cage...

When I got Pinky and Perky I give it them in the smaller cage.. And they were on it all the time.. Pinky and perky have moved themselves into the big rat cage :0 so have moved the wheel..

Big rats have been using it to get off a shelf and as they stand on the top they slide down to the next shelf.. I reckon they believe this is the purpose of the wheel
