RIP Pixie

Pixie went to the vets this morning for a check up, after the medication she was given for her head tilt wasnt doing anything.

I thought she was dead when I found her this morning in her cage, she was on her side in a ball with her eyes wide open, but she was still breathing. I propped her up and she was pretty much just rolling around, she couldnt stand up. When she eventually got onto all fours, she couldnt keep her head up or straight at all. The vet said the chance of a tumour is very likely, as 1 eye was bulging quite badly by this point, and the other wasnt. She said the kindest thing to do was to put her to sleep.

She had some gas and an overdose of anesthetic I was in tears at the vets as I couldnt help but think maybe it was just an ear infection, but I couldnt see her suffer anymore. She was losing alot of weight aswell.

RIP <3

And when she was a baby

Re: RIP Pixie

So sorry to hear this, she was beautiful. I had to have one of our hamsters put to sleep the other week and I wasn't sure how they did it so I asked. I just hope she didn't suffer as I couldn't watch. You did the right thing though. {{hugs}}
