Re: Hamster people

I have to agree with everyone else. Hamster heavens are brilliant. I also like most ferplast cages. Well the duna and duna funa.

Stay away from anything very tall (the tall wire cages) hams often fall from the top and break legs or even worse necks. Anything rotastak (unless you have lots of room for them to be flat, only for dwafs tho as you cant get an adequate syrian sized wheel in one) Ovos, habitrails & SAM cages. And also anything that just has a wire base for them to walk on, as they can get bumblefoot.

You need to make sure you have a decent sized wheel for syrians 8"+ I think the minimum is. I love the flying saucers and silent spinners for dwarfs .

As for toys, mine like cardboard boxes/tubes. Sandboxes, houses to sleep in and just generally anything to hide in or chew. Don't go spending much as it will be wrecked in no time I also use value toilet roll for bedding, they love to shred it to make a huge bed and play with the tube. Plus its £1.12 for 12 rolls in Morrisons!

Gosh that was long Im sure most people boarding their hamsters will bring a cage with them anyway help the ham settle in. Good luck!
