introducing degus
We've had our new degus for quite a few weeks now and so far things seem to be going well.

We've had them in seperate cages close by, then moved them next to each other so that they could see and smell each other through the bars. We've then swapped some of the things like nesting boxes so that they could smell each other's scents on them.

They've been using the same dust bath too.

Tonight we have swapped them into each other's cages. They are having a lovely time, running around and smelling new smells and playing with new toys. And they seem really comfortable and content too.

They don't really pay much attention to each other anymore. The squeaking has stopped and been replaced by nice chattering through the bars.

Hopefully things will go well when we finally introduce them to each other too.

Yep it gives you a few seconds of distraction, so they either calm down or you can scoop up the trouble maker lol

Introduced Emmet and Carlisle first then Emmet and Edward. Emmet and Carlisle had a couple of sniffs but then ignored each other. Absolutely no agressive behaviour.
