Question for rat breeders

At what stage of pregnancy do you put the does in a maternity cage? I'm thinking I may do it sooner rather than later, obviously I'm not entirely sure if they are actually pregnant & how far along they are so I was wondering if I should do it from now onwards, as they'll have been here for 2 weeks on Saturday & 2 of them are looking quite rounded now

Re: Question for rat breeders

Have they started nest building yet? It's probably best to keep them separated for as little time as possible, after all, they're going to be spending a lot of time alone with their babies once they're born.
Where did you rescue them from? Can we have pics? :3

The Norwich Hutch Rats (piccies & a video!)
As of tonight I've put Tau in one of the maternity cages as she's ballooned overnight & gained 21grams in 24hours

Thankyou I'm hoping due to recent developments, which I can't go into, there will be at least an investigation although a prosecution would be better, if a bit unrealistic, sadly I don't think there's enough evidence

Re: Question for rat breeders

How much bloody evidence do they need!!! This is where the law is completely and utter bonkers!!! With cases like these where it's black and white prosecution is the key to stop it happening again!!! ooooggghhh don't get me started!!!!
