This is Izzy

Hi this is my 16 week old female syrain hammie Izzy. We adopted her from pets at home where she was originally called Viola, but that was to girly and posh for me. As soon as I saw her I had to take her home, shes got the cutest little face and when you give her a treat its quickly pouched and you get a look of excuse me you forgot to give me my treat . Shes a bit of a handful as I dont think she was handled and she bites but I can forgive the nips when she gives you the "Im sowwy" face.

Re: This is Izzy

Aww shes lovely. The biting will probs stop the more you handle her, she might just be testing to see if you are for eating.

Re: This is Izzy

she is a beauty,u may find you'll need to upgrade your wheel though as syrians wheels should be no smaller than 8inches otherwise when running they can hurt there backs as they have to bend to use it.

Re: This is Izzy

Awww she is a darling! Yeah keep regular with the handling and the biting should disappear. It's a lack of trust issue generally. There are those who are too scarred...but most stop! xx

Re: This is Izzy

Thanks everyone, yeah I think she wasnt sure whether to trust me or not. Because we adopted her I dont think she was shown much love in her old house and shes only 16 weeks so I think she was just left to it for most of her early life.
The wheels too small? It came with the cage and I have watched her in it. she seems to run straight and not bent too much but I'll give it a measure it a moment.

Shes become a lovely hammie in the last 24 hours. Once miss bitey is now miss snuggle up your sleeve lol

Also I was wondering are the cages with tubes wide enough for syrains or are they mainly for dwarfs?

yeh syrians wheels should be a minimum of 8inches really.
as she's only a baby as she grows she will def need a bigger one.
