Too soon?
Hi I have a couple of questions. 6 months ago we lost our gorgeous hamster Lola after 2 1/2 years, we were completely devastated.
Its only been recently that i thought about getting another one, we have a huge fancy cage and we were going to get rid of it as im not sure i can stand to see another hammy in there. I know it might sound crazy but lola was such an amazing hamster, she was so good, never bit anyone, just the BEST, that im worried that any other hamster with just pale in comparison. am i being silly? |

Re: Too soon?
I think you should give yourself time to decide if it's what you want. It'd be a shame for you to get a new hamster in that mindset, it sounds like Lola was a lot to live up to, and with a newbie hammie, you might set yourself up for disappointment. If you could look at the newbie in a fresh light, then at that point I'd say you were ready.

Re: Too soon?
It is only too soon if you think you are not ready. You are not being silly - of course it will be hard if you were that close. but maybe a new hamster with have different qualities and be just as wonderful in a different way.
