gerbil help

i am posting this on behalf of a friend who does nothave access to the internet.

my friend wants to buy a female gerbil as she has one male who used to have a friend bt he died. she wants to breed them and then when they are weaned, sperate the female and keep a daughter with her... sell the rest but keep a son with the dad. now this will only work if the dad will acept the son... will he?

Introducing two new gerbils can be difficult especially if they are both quite old. It can be done though with patience. If they do accept each other, mate and have gerbil babies, your friend will have to separate the pair as gerbils will mate straight after birth.
I wouldn't see a problem with the father living with a son as they would be used to each other already
