Deep based vivarium?

Does anyone know where I can get a vivarium with quite a deep base?
I want one for my gerbils so that they can have a good digging area but also put some shelves in and have easy access to it.

Re: Deep based vivarium?

Have a look on ebay! You could also use a fish tank (sounds odd i know) I was recommended this by the man at the local pet shop when I was trying to find a cage for my hamster. He said large fish tanks can be adapted with shelves etc...and have all the room you need. I chose not to use this idea because i wanted tubes for Cinnamon but it's always a possibility

Re: Deep based vivarium?

I looked into this before I got gerbils. Decided to go for a basic glass aquarium and to make a lid instead, much less expensive, much easier to buy and just better all round

Re: Deep based vivarium?

I have them in rotastak at the moment which I think is fantastic for them but is, unfortunately, butt ugly.

I've had them in tanks before (often connected to the rotastak) but found them a real pain to get in to for daily things like food and water.

Thanks for the suggestion for the custom built place, I tried looking yesterday but the one place I enquired to would involve a 6 hour round drive - the site you've suggested looks much better!

I've been looking at this too but a plain viv would be nice as it would match my mouse cage.
