So who wants to see the new addition?

I was warned about GMR when I joined this forum.... ah dear. Anyway the gerbils are doing well although slightly off with me as I left them for Reading Festival and they went a few days without cuddles (They got fed by mum, but I can't imagine her picking them up!)

Anyway on the last day of Reading I hurt my ankle so am off work for a few days = PERFECT OPPORTUNITY TO SORT OUT THE CAMBRIDGE CAGE

Gave it a good clean out... sitting looking at the nice hamster cage.... put bedding in.... raced down to the local pet shop and guess who I collected!

As he isn't a P@H rodent he's already a bit friendlier than the gerbils were when I first had them. He does seem a bit shy and confused at the moment... I feel sorry for him because at least the gerbils had each other. Anyway he had a nap and has now discovered the wheel which he seems please with.

When he first arrived I moved the gerbils into a living room as he could here them and was desperately looking for a friend/scared of what was out there!

No name as of yet, thinking something to do with Reading weekend.... Travis after Blink's drummer?

He is lovely Last time I went in there was a black long haired hammy who i had my heart set on but he wasn't their today, and this little guy woke up for me and started showing off by climbing the water bottle. I'm glad I have a silent spinner is all I can say....

Re: So who wants to see the new addition?

I think sleeping tonight will be fun... Hamster on the wheel, gerbils burrowing away.... at least the dog is quiet! She's actually petrified of the rodents... silly girl.

Re: So who wants to see the new addition?

I do recall a friends dog getting a nasty nip on the toe by a hamster, he cowered at the sound of a wheel....

Re: So who wants to see the new addition?

aww he is lovely!

I love looking at hammies in the pet shop, there's so much more variety these days!! When I had mine (which was only about 10 years now - im 20) you could only ever get them in like orangey brown, black and white, cinnamon and white and the very occasional white/albino long haired ones! Now there are seriously so many of them! I remember going crazy when I got my last hamster, she was black and i'd never seen a black one before, thought she was really rare

I am so tempted to get a hamster once my gerbils have passed on.
