Thankfully no infertiles as yet! She is around 7 months old and has only had her colouring for a couple of weeks! My first female cham, Lily, was a champion layer, lol! Her first clutch at 14 months was 104 and her second was 102! Amy is not going to be overfed, that's for sure! I don't want a repeat performance with Amy!

Re: Meet Amy!

ahhh shes still quite young yet then, thats the only probs with female chams you gota watch out for those infertile eggs, my female sadly died from being eggboundshed successfully laid 31 eggs a couple of month b4 aswell. WOW those are some massive clutches lol, yer good idea feeding less will deffo decrease the clutch size, im not sure if i remember correctly but im sure i read somehwere that if u drop the temps a little it either decreases the clutch size or it decreases the amount of times they have clutches which means that female chams can live for a lot longer than usual.

That'll be the Raising Kitty blog! A couple of Cham Forums members wrte that about the temps and feeding. I will deffo be paying more attention to how much Amy eats and how warm her cage is! If you get things just right you can prevent them from laying at all. Can't see that myself, but there ya go. It may work in the warmer places - dunno about the UK tho! Sorry about your female. I was heartbrken when Lily died. A post mortem showed she had liver trouble that I couldn't have known about. Amy is helping to fill the empty void that Lily left behind. I love chams so much, I could never be without one lol!

Re: Meet Amy!

yer the raising kitty blog thats where i got it from itd deffo be worth giving a try with the temps and the feeding, anything that can make her life longer is worth giving a shot id say. thanks, yer its terrible when one of em dies isnt it i was absoloutely gutted when phoebe died. Thats a good idea gettin a post mortem done at least u now kno it wasnt anything that could have been prevented.
