Hello everyone
Just joined the forum but i wish it was under happier circumstances
we had to have our beloved westie barney put to sleep on the 3rd of february
because it was discovered that he had a growth in the roof of his mouth
which was slowly growing into his brain and nasal cavity.At first the vet
thought it might have been a nasal infection but after 2 weeks of not getting
better he went to a specialist vet in Winchester where we were told the news.So the decision was taken to end any further suffering and pain.
Sad really as we only had him for 4 years and he'd already been involved in an
RTA not long after we got him and had to have pins inserted into 2 of his legs
then last year he was diagnosed with Pancreanitis and now this still i think he
was happy i miss his face in the morning when it was time for walkies even now i'm still going for a walk around the village and onto salisbury plain where
we used to go chatting away to him sounds crazy i know but as i tell the wife it's just my way of coping with it.
But we are having him cremated so he'll be back home soon.

Hope happy memories of Barney will soon replace the sadness that you are going through at the moment.
Like you say he will soon be back with you and you can put him in a special place.
I did the same to one of ours. When i got her back from being cremated i didn't no where to put her so for a week i put her in her bed. Now she's in her special place and i still say hello to her every day. Sounds silly to some i know, but like you say it's a way of coping.

im so sorry for your sad loss of such a loving animal, you made the right choice letting him go, but these decisions are hard to cross, the main thing hes our of pain and suffering, barney will always remain with you, he started a new life at rainbow bridge,
you have many wonderul memories to remember him by

memories are golden.
