Just had a call from my mum to say that her beloved chocolate lab Sam has been put to sleep today.
He has been going downhill for the past couple of months and when the vet checked him over today he said his heart was failing and that he would probably only last another week or so. My mum thought it was best to let him go there and then.
It was very peaceful, my mum fed him biscuits while the vet gave him the jab so he left this world doing what he did best.... eating!!
Now he is with his little mate Ellie who my mum lost last year to cancer.

ahh im sorry to hear that news, this is a thing that usually happens in older dogs, its sad to hear that it was sams time to cross over to the bridge

Ive already planned what to get my parents for Christmas... a framed pic of Sam and Ellie with a copy of the rainbow bridge poem. Its such a lovely poem. I cant read it without getting all teared up.
