we lost kira the kakarikis. she had gone through a heavy moult and had came out of it as well as the breeder said she would. she passed away in her sleep!!!! no pain or in any distress at all, thankfully. she was a very young bird, only 21/2, what a shame.

i had only messaged a friend to tell of kira's improvement and she passed away that very night, i had been to upset to message him back to tell him of the awful news.

the day before she p.a. she was giving me the usuall kisses on my nose, pecked at my heels and fed, as usuall from my hand,she snuggledd into our cockateil and our dog max, do they know something's going to happen!!!!!? she went under the pet food unit, i thought to lay eggs but she passed away peacefully. it was as if she were saying goodbye, i know you will prob think, "oh, it's your imagination, but i would like to remember her saying goodbye and being her usuall 'heeky monkey'wee self.

feel awful washing out her cage today!!!! was going to get OH to do it but it's my wasy of saying goodbye, i suppose.

How sad ...Maybe she was saying goodbye.

We have only had Basil a few months but I am amazed at how much he knows and recognises..

I know its little comfort but she didnt suffer and she was obviously loved..
