Unhappy My Cat, Izzy, gone too early :(

I can't sleep and I need to get all of this off've my chest.

When we moved into my new house we had 3 cats, 2 rats and a dog. Within 1 month 1 of our cats, Katie, was run over. It was incredibly tragic. 1 month after that one of my pet rats died, it was also very sad. My sister got a new cat after Katie died. I named her Izzy. The SPCA sold her for $75 thinking she was just a tabby cat. It turned out she was actually an exotic breed known as Somali! She was quite old for a kitten, being 3 months old when we got her, but she was such a pleasant cat.

Here's a photo of her:
SP_A0011.jpg

I took care of her straight off the bat, she slept in my room, i got her food, i carried her around and gave her the most attention, and because of this she liked me more than the rest of my family. When we would all be sitting on the couch Izzy would walk into the room and we would all call out her name, she would always walk up to me, jump onto the couch, sit on my chest and give me a big smooch. She would purr and sit there and often fall asleep, she was quite a unique cat.

I would be playing Xbox in my room and she would pop her head through my curtains to check who was in my room, and she would see it was me, eat for a short while and then jump onto my bed and sleep on my chest. She was incredibly affectionate and was my rock when I was saddened by the death of our other cat and my 2 rats.

Heres a photo of her sleeping near our dog, Roxy: izzy and roxy.jpg

She would always sleep in my room, and if she did not sleep there she would come in for food each night. So on Sunday night i noticed she had not been in the night before and I got worried. I started calling for her and she did not come in that night. The next day I had a Science Exam and when i got home i checked the whole house for her. My sister came home and I asked her if she had seen Izzy. She told me Izzy had been run over on saturday night and no one told me because they didn't want to distract me from my science exam.

I broke down in tears and have been absolutely distraught for the whole day. I keep thinking about all the things she would do, like when she would sleep in my arms like this

I just wanted to share my story, get this off my chest, although i wish i could have Izzy sitting on it right now. Thanks for reading.

Re: My Cat, Izzy, gone too early :(

So very sorry to hear about your beautiful cat Izzy. I now exactly how you are feeling. I lost a beautiful 9 month old tabby almost 2 years ago to a RTA and just a few weeks ago my lovely 18 month old siamese x. He had been injured but internally so he didnt look ill and we had to made the horrendous decision to have him PTS a week later. I hope they are all happy playing, safe from harm.

Your story has brought tears to my eyes I'm so sorry to hear about Izzy, I can't begin to imagine how you must feel. I hope she's in kitty heaven, remembering the good times, sleeping on your lap and purring to you. I know it's probably hard but just try to remember the good times honey xxx

I am so sorry, Liam7mail. What a terrible thing to have happened. Izzy sounds like a truly special cat, and quite obviously adored you. I hope you can take some comfort from all the happy memories you have of her, and hopefully in time, you will feel a little less sad.

RIP Izzy.

Re: My Cat, Izzy, gone too early :(

Thanks everyone for your kind words, it really means a lot to me. I found some more photos of her that I'd like to share. Some are of her when she was much younger, like this one when I took probably the first few days of getting her.

Today I had another cat sitting on me and purring like she used to and I broke down. I miss her so damn much.
