Jess
Jess came into my life 10 yrs ago, Mum had just lost Tom (cat)to cancer and because she was suffering from cancer herself she decided another cat was just what she needed to take her mind off of things. Unfortunatly 23/10/2003 (8yrs ago today) mum lost her battle. Dad couldn't cope so I took her in. She was the classic naughty tortie with quite a nasty streak in her but we soon became firm friends with an understanding between us. I fed her she didn't attack me. We had 8 wonderful yrs together until recently IBD reared its ugly head. She was diagnosed with having fiv but I was told with medication and lots of tlc things should be fine. 2 weeks ago I rushed her to the vets with suspected pneumonia. Jess made a quick recovery although her weight was still down I was confident we could get over this hiccup. Friday she started to 'wave' her front paw around almost as if she lost feeling in it. Not to worry vets on tuesday would sort that out. Today she had trouble walking on it and when she had having her medication she toppled over and howled in pain, something I never want to hear again. She was rushed to the vets where with great saddness it was decided to let her go. She died in my arms with dignity and courage. Jess you came into my life at a time of great sadness now you have gone that sadness returns. Give Mum a purr for me, tell her I miss her. Run free Jess and don't bully the other cats at the Bridge. xx
