Mumu is on a distinguished road
Tikki Mu

Tikki came to live with me and Kipling 8 years ago, when her owners moved to sunnier climes and they decided she was too old to make the trip to Australia. She was 12 at the time.

At first she was quite unsociable, hissing me at me and the boy, but she came round and in the last 5 years turned into a loving lap cat who wanted petting and attention.

She was a strange little thing. She loved to chew my hair while I slept, lick my partners neck and hands and fall asleep on my chest. In her later years she became quite smelly (the vet confirmed it was 'just old age') but seemed to revert to kittenhood again! She started to lose her hearing, but her eyesight was fine. Oh and she was never one to shy from an arguement, with us or any other neighbourhood cats.

I think it was this last trait that was her undoing. Just over 2 months ago, late one evening we heard wild caterwauling outside and went to investigate. Both cats were there, but Tikki was in a bad way. She had been attacked and suffered severe crush injuries. As I went to her something (not a dog) ran off.

She passed away 20 mins later, in my arms while I was waiting for the vet outside their practice. The vet thinks she was attacked by a fox, which wouldn't surprise me as there are loads round here.

Typical Tikki, however, while Kipling was poised to leg it, I guess she stood her ground and faced her attacker off.

I miss her so much, she was a little cat who left a large hole in our household it's taking ages for us to get over losing her. I'm reconciled to the fact, however, that at 20 she had a fine innings and I am glad I could be with her at the end.

Please give all your loved pets an extra cuddle.

Tikki Mu RIP

Re: Tikki Mu

So sorry for your loss of Tikki Mu.
She had a great life with you and i am sure she is now telling them all about it up at Rainbow Bridge.
Loosing a pet does leave a big gap in your life and does take a long time for the pain to ease.
The memories of them never fade as they all have different little ways.
Hopefully soon (if you haven't already) another little one will come into your life and you can give them a chance of a loving home.
Sometimes by doing this it helps both of you.

Our last Kitty Chloe has really helped me with my recent loss.
