2007 was bad
It was so sad
For Charlie you see
All in one week
I got home
Went into my room
Found a pool of water in my room
What should I do
Then our boiler broke
Then you on then Monday
When I ateYou normally ate with me
But you didn't
Charlie that is odd for you
You looked at me
You didn't touch your food
I should have known
Something was wrong
Early hours of Tuesday morning
My sister woke me
Asked me for my pin number
Then left me in bed
She took you to the vet
They gave her something for the pain
You were brought home
put back inyour cage
On Wednesday morning
My sister told me
Charlie is sick
We have to take her back to the vets this evening
I went to college
I cried all day
Then got home
I cried then too
Because I loved you
We took you to the vets
In your little bath we emptied
Made into a vet cage
Put a towel over it
On the way to the vets
I cried
I cried in the waiting room
I cried in the vets examination room
For I knew
What I would have to do
They could remove your tumour
But said you would probably not make it
Asked me what I wanted to do
I had to make the heartbreaking decision
I let you go
Knowing that would be the last goodbye
Because I love you
I didn't want you to suffer.

I just came up with this poem for my budgie Charlie and I'm off again with the water works. it has been 4 years. She was only 2 years old.
