im so sorry to hear of maxs passing dougal had the same, but the vets dont tell you not till its tolate, epepsy is a killer minly in dogs but attacts much more to dogs that are vunerble due to there age ect,
we all know that you cant see epelepy, but they seem to come down so quick, you must miss him dearly and time is only short they say that a broken heart may mend, but memories will live forever in our hearts.
r.i.p. dear max

Thank you for your kind words sweetheart. Dougal was lucky to have you, and that's so true! If they are in our hearts and memories then they are never far away. Dougal looked like the happiest sweetest dog ever! xxxx

Sorry to hear epilepsy affected Dougal as well And it's true that older dogs who develop epilepsy later on life arent going to recover effectively if at all.... There usually is always an underlying cause, Max's vet said that Max more than likely had a brain tumour which triggered it, cold comfort to have a reason but still hard. He went downhill so fast, it was only a year ago he was diagnosed But we had such a fantastic year with him! Making us smile right to the end. Even if we'd of known about the tumour a year ago, they don't show up on MRI scans I was told, I doubt we'd of changed things, I wouldn't of wanted to put him through horrendous treatments, that's not fair...

I do miss him like crazy, i'm not coping very well at all if i'm truthful... I don't think I grieved like this when my Dad died. Max was the centre of our family, and he's left a huge 7 and a half stone hole in our lives

dear misshelley
i read maxs wonderful blog and i suppose you do greif sometime, more over animals.epelepsy is a terrible condition whatever any one want to call it dougal had a brain tumour he was 16+ he didnt pass away with his heart ect but when epelepsy takes it toll theres no coming back for ever sezuire they have it destoy thousands of cells round the body making the immune system also suceptable to white cell distruction, dementia, stroke.
ahh im really so so sorry that max had to go before his time,
we all want them back thats the hardest part,
laddie was 17yrs old.

I lost laddie in 1994 he died of epelepsy it took his brain, and then he had a major stroke like dougi he had a heart murmour which was in catagory 5
we ask selfs why did it happen, but it was fate somethings we cant undo in this life for life is a tree an we never walk a strait rd, maybe all our animals walk couragously to rainbow bridge for where they have fullfilled there destiny in this life.
i believe that they walk in the other life, im sure max knows that you did the best for him, time is only young yet and you have plenty of time to greive,
but youll alway hold them loving memories of max in your heart.
memories are forever in out hearts
