Barney-Chocolate Labrador
I remember when I was about 4 that my uncle had a new choccy lab (I only ever remember them having chocolates as they had Brookie at the same time and a bit before Barney)
He was so lovely, his favourite toy was a green squeaky hedgehog ball with a yellow face and no matter how many times you threw it he'd always go get it then drop it at your feet for another go.
When my Nana would have a fall he'd go and lie next to her til someone came home or he'd go and scratch at the door to the hall for people to come downstairs if people were in. Never tried to run out the door or gate like Rupert and Brookie either
He was the last surviving one from his litter. Their breeder sent a card just the other week to ask how he was, they get sent cards at least twice a year with updates on the rest of the litter and the like
He was very overweight towards the end, lots of lumps and bumps, a bit of a cough etc but he was always so happy to see people and such a sweet bot.
Rest In Peace Barney

Hope you've managed to find Brookie, Snippy, Fudge, Prince and Sooty.
