RIP Jake

Recently found out the neighbor's big black cat Jake was hit by a car a short time ago although he wasn't my cat, I miss him deeply. He was often in the garden or waiting by the back door for a bit of fuss and play. He was a really huge cat with very thick fur, but was so, so gentle. He would often follow me down the road, especially if I was taking a late night walk. He is the only cat I know that liked having that big furry belly tickled.

Run free, Jake. Run and play with fallen leaves that you love to do so much. I miss you dearly.

Re: RIP Jake

I know how it feels to miss someone else's pet - the ache hurts just the same.
I posted something 'for Remy' the other night for my friend's English Setter in the US. I never met Remy in the flesh but knew her through her 'mom's constant emails about her progress, her good days, her bad days and how the inevitable had been looming over the past couple of months. So I feel it for her too.

So I feel for you too, and for Jake who sounds a lovely guy. Think of him now purring away and doing things he likes best over that Rainbow Bridge.
