Re: my little bun passed away
Sorry for your loss
![]() Is the other bun eating and pooing? I would take the other one to the vet for a check over and if everything is ok maybe rescue a neutered bun (oppostie sex) to keep it company.

Re: my little bun passed away
I checked in on Gizmo last night and noticed that she hasn't really eaten, but I can understand that as she must be wondering where her friend has gone and it's a huge hutch and they always snuggled together. Took her out for a cuddle and had her on the sofa for a few hours and she seemed perky enough health wise hopping about having a good nosey at everything so I think she's fine apart from the not eating (she did manage a few dandelion leaves) felt so guilty putting her back though as it just seemed such a lonely place
Would it be better to get her another companion and would a male be better (Ripley was a lady and they got on well) and would it be better getting a younger bun so she's the boss or does this not really factor in rabbit world?Thank you for all the responses as well, is the only downside to pet ownership I want all mine to live as long as people ![]() |

it would be better to get a bun thats already neutered, un-neutered buns will become hormonal and it'll stress her out more. If you get a female bun they are likely to fight its hard to bond a pair of females unless they are from the same litter. I take it she's neutered?

Re: my little bun passed away
Thanks for the advice, i've seen a gorgeous male at our local rescue and he's quite young so think it might be a good match(fingers crossed). He will be neutered from there too which is good. Gizmo isn't neutered just because it was two females living together there wasn't really an issue but i defintely don't want babies so as long as I get a neutered boy that'll be ok (or i can always get her done) she's quite laid back i brought her in yesterday and she tried to snuggle up to my dog Kez so i think she's missing company so will try and find her another friend.
