Wild baby bunny

My daughter spotted a tiny baby rabbit yesterday hiding under a bush in the street - I imagine that it came from a nearby field and got lost. She was really worried for the poor little thing as there are quite a few cats around so she scratched herself to bits on brambles to "rescue" it and put it in the cat box with some dandelion leaves and carrots. Of course she desparately wanted to keep it as a pet but we persuaded her that it really should go back to the wild (we don't have a hutch or anything anyway). We took over to the field with her and let it go - Trouble is that she's cried ever since and won't forgive me! I think we did the right thing. What does anyone else think?

awww well as long as it wasnt hurt and you released it nearby it should be fine. Its very difficult because it is better to leave them in the wild but if they are injured or have lost mum then rescue centres or wildlife centres will take them. You did what felt right so im sure it'll be fine

Dont feel bad if it wasnt for you it probably would have become a cat toy. Explain to your daughter the little bunny wants to go back and play with his friends in the field, he's born in the wild and thats were he wants to be
