Hi,
We have been thinking about getting our 6 month old Lionhead a mate to keep him company where we are out. The vet has recommended getting another neutered boy but we really wanted a girl. He said that sometimes girls can be very dominant! I also wonder if we did get a boy would it matter if the new boy was not neutered untill he was 6 months old, how this would affect our rabbit who is ready neutered? Does anyone have any advice? ![]() |

Change your vet!!! What a load of rubbish! Boys even neutered are incrediably hard to bond, it can be done but often does not work. a neutered female is the best option, there are thousands in rescues looking for a boyfriend! Rabbit Rehome - Adopt an unwanted bunny from a rescue centre I tried to bond 2 rescued boys, it worked until the younger one got older, they were both neutered and they ended up seriously fighting, i tried everything. Both boys are now happily settled with neutered female companions! My loved up couple ![]()

Re: A friend for our rabbit
Thank you! I thought it was a little strange that all of the pairs I had seen were boy/girl and hardly any with two boys.
We will look for a little girl lionhead then, I did look at the website for rescue bunnies but didn't see any that were very close to us in Surrey. |
