Runny bum ???

I've noticed that Lily has a bit of a runny bum this afternoon.
I bought her some dried veg yesterday and gave her a bit to try...
Do you think thats what could have caused it?

Any ideas on what to do now??

I cant pick her up yet to check her bum properly as she's too wrigly and i dont want to frighten her, but i also dont want her getting fly strike..

Re: Runny bum ???

cant help with any suggestions, but as you have already suggested you need to keep her rear end clean to avoid strike
Its for her own good, hopefully this will pass shortly

Re: Runny bum ???

if shes not used to veg it could be that. it could also be stress if shes not yet completly settled. toast is good for upset tummmies though and they love it!!!

if your worried about her bum you can clean it with wet wipes while covering her head in a towel to try to keep her calmer. This works a lot easier if there are two of you!! give her treats afterwards though to help her forget about her ordeal and hopefully she will forgive you. some bunnies enjoy being pampered, i had a nethie who was a right stroppy cow when she wanted to be but if she knew she was getting a bath and blow dry she was happy and well behaved.

Re: Runny bum ???

Lottie suffers with a runny bum and if she got overweight she often didn't clean it off herself. I cut out all her veg, reduced her pellets and increased their hay and her bot has ben sparkling since then. When I do give ehr the occassional veg I make sure its nothing watery so she mainly has brocilli

Re: Runny bum ???
