Re: Peppa has just bit my daughter!
Bless them both,
I wonder if your daughter startled Peppa? I also wonder if she usually approaches with food in fingers? Having been bit by Alfie on my finger tip I sympathise. Alfie bit me because I had just been eating a date and then lay down to snuggle Alfie - I think he thought it was a real date. Has Peppa been eating and drinking fine recently? |

Re: Peppa has just bit my daughter!
What age is he and is he neutered?
Some entire rabbits can become aggressive when they reach maturity.

Re: Peppa has just bit my daughter!
Also how old is your daughter?
Is it possible she was a bit rough with him? So many things to consider but really don't worry over one nip. Maybe supervise her visits to him for noww so you can monitor his and her reaction. |

Re: Peppa has just bit my daughter!
even pet rabbits will be scared of things that come directly above them as they are prey animals, I usually rub my fingers together (like clicking fingers) near my rabbit first to let her know where my hand is and then give her a stroke (my buns eyes arnt that great).
Also buy going into her hutch she probably thought she was an intruder in her space, its much better if a rabbit comes to you. hope thats helpful |

Re: Peppa has just bit my daughter!
Hi
Thanks for the replies. My daughter is 6, she didnt do anything different from what she normally does, she just opening the top section of the hutch and put her hand in to stroke him, m thinking maybe he thought she had something to eat maybe. I think you could be right about the maturity thing we have had him for about 3 years now and have jut recently got a female for him and are going to be taking them both to the vets to get 'done' . Peppa is normally out in the garden all day especially around Snowballs hutch/run but yesterday spent mot of the time upstairs in his hutch, dont know if it was the weather as it was a bit warm but he just didnt seem himself!, anyway we went back out to check on him last night and gave him a stroke and he seemed fine! ![]() |
