Any litter training tips ? ?

We have had our bunnies for a few days now and were wondering what the best tips were for litter training them.

We have a litter tray in the hutch. The first few days, every time they poo'd we put it in the litter tray with some sawdust, and the past few days we have got some rabbit litter pellets to use.....

They don't seem to be going for it at the moment, and I know its probably too soon for them to get into a routine, but I did just wonder if there were any tips to spur them on ? ?

Re: Any litter training tips ? ?

as scosha says, just keep an eye out for which corner they like to use and then put the litter tray there. unfortunately its easyer to put the tray where the bun wants to go than to try and make them go where you want them to go lol

the other thing is until you have them neautered you will get accidednts and litter training is gonna be hard. buns like to mark their territory with poo's and peeing which isnt very nice for us but generally reduces after neutering.

Re: Any litter training tips ? ?

Hi everyone,
I am looking to get two house rabbits and have found a lady that lives near me with two female rabbits she needs to rehome due to relocating. Does anyone know if it'll be easy to litter train two outside rabbits that aren't babies? (one is 18 months old the other is 2 years old) also becuase they are females I doubt she has had them spayed do you think this will cause any problems with their behaviour later on in life, I heard that un-spayed females can spray just like males!
Thanks,
Kirsty

Re: Any litter training tips ? ?

Litter tray training was so easy for us with Leo. Wait until you see where they prefer to go put the litter tray there and put some soiled bedding in. He ignored it the first time we put it down so we took it out after a couple of days and put it back and he was going in there no problem. I would get them spayed when you get them and it shouldn't be any problem training them.
