Re: brands...
You have to be careful with wood shavings as pine and cedar shavings can cause liver problems in bunnies. I just put paper on the bottom of my cages with ikea bath mats/towels on top and use wooden pellets in their litter trays. I use bunny hay which seems much better than the dried out brown stuff I started using. Sounds like Calvin is a lucky little bun
It's funny how men end up loving them as much as we do. I think my husband is constantly surprised what great pets they are. |

Re: brands...
Norman lives in the house and I just keep him on newspaper for now - free and easy. Im planning to get some kind of hardwearing rubber floor tiles (like you can get in kids play areas) when I have the ££ though as he has been known to rip the paper. But he has a grass mat to sit on and a nice comfy bed to if he feels like it so he isnt always on the hard floor...
I havent used a substrate for the floor of his cage as being in my house I find that it would just stick to him and I would be constantly picking it up. LOL. He has hay in a hay rack but still manages to walk that around the house.. I am with you on the feeding, im just quite sure how much...I have been giving him a constant supply of Timothy and Meadow hay all day. Then a small bowl of excel pellets for junior and dwarf rabbits in the morn, some weetabix during the day as a treat or maybe afew more pellets as he goes nuts for them (I hand feed them to help us bond) then he gets a small bowl of pellets again in the evening again! He really goes mad for them and jumps all around my feet when the packet comes out. He is only 9 weeks so I havent started to give him veg but when I went to the vets for his injection the vet said that I can start to?? x

Re: brands...
I got it from P@H.....he loves to nibble on it!
I think the tiled floor is more comfortable for them than a hard wood floor but it cant be soft enough for them to be able to chew or scratch or wouldnt last very long . I saw some on this Soft Floor UK - Interlocking Rubber Floor Mats They range from soft to hardwearing! x
