had a call from a lady who needs advice

she has bought a bunny from the same person i got dexter from and she said she has sat around doing nothing and now has had severe diareah, i asked if she changed the food and she said she has it on excell pellets but they was on wagg so im thinking this baby maybe in serious trouble? ive recomended vets asap and told her to take the food away and said baby needs wagg and gradual change onto the excel.
is this poor baby in serious danger?

Re: had a call from a lady who needs advice

i wouldb't of thought so i would say they quick change over just gave baby a tummy upset.

take a dog for example if you change the food over straight away they get the runs for a few days until their tummy gets used to the new food which is why it is best to do it slowly as it lets the tummy get used to the new food.

i would say this is what has happened to the rabbit. just tell her to make sure the bunnys bottom stays clean and it should clear itself up go back to wagg and slowly change over to the new food.

Re: had a call from a lady who needs advice

i would think so!!
i would advise vets asap as baby bunnies can and will die if the diareoa is allowed to continue
advise har to try vegatable baby food in the meantime
but vets urgently!!

she took the bun to vet and left it there, i rang her in afternoon and she hadnt heard anything. she said she would ring me and let me know any updates.
i feel so bad for her as she only lost her frenchie at christmas and as they missed him so much they got this 1.
i hope it pulls through
