Re: Nest Building!!

she`ll line the nest when she`s ready, when she does have them its best to leave her and babies alone for a while undisturbed

Re: Nest Building!!

Well no babies, I am thinking this could be a phantom pregnancy, I got her out today she felt heavier and more solid than normal, didn't have too harder feel would not know what I was feeling for anyway, or if I was in the right place?
its 34 days now so can I persume she won't be having babies this time?

Re: Nest Building!!

What breed is she.
Larger breeds can go 35 days but over this is very rare for a rabbit to go any longer without there being complications.
Is she happy in herself?

Re: Nest Building!!

She is a dutch rabbit, she is fine in herself, she has spent most of the day today the opposite end of the hutch to her bed area, I have read that they distance themselves from the nest after babies born and just go in there to feed them, but is it usual for them to do this before???

Re: Nest Building!!

I take it she hasn't had them and you just can't see them.
She will not stay with the babies she will just go and feed them when needed.
Some females don't pull fur atall and just make a nest with the bedding.

Re: Nest Building!!

she might have aborted the litter at a later stage and that may be why she was doing a the nesting behaviour
