Re: Which breed ...

Id go for a male female combo and neuter both they generally bond better. I wouldnt ever have 2 males as even after being neutered dont always tolirate each other. Yes guinea pigs and rabbits have different needs and a rabbit carries a bacteria in its throat thats not good for a G-pig and they can cause internal injurys when jumping about. To be honest rabbits generally do better with the company of another rabbit there very socail animals.

Re: Which breed ...

P.s Your have to keep them separated until there neutered they have generally calmed down 3 months after the op time for hormones to settle. Has your friend thought about a rescue as they will neuter for you and will help to get you a pair of rabbits.

Re: Which breed ...

Rabbits do NOT make good childrens pets and children should not be the sole carer of a rabbit. Rabbits are prey animals and hide their illnesses, so signs of illness are mainly subtle, which a child may not notice.
They are best in pairs and i would NOT recommend Nethies for kids.
Rabbits do NOT like being picked up and prefer to be fussed on the floor.
They shouldn't be mixed with Guinea pigs as they are carriers of Bordatella that is fatal to Guinea Pigs. Not to mention They are a whole different species
