Are my 2 rabbits brothers? Different breeds!

Hi I got two rabbits and was told they were brothers. They get on fine as they were obviously put togther at a young age. But now I've reasearced them I found out one is a French Lop and the other a Dutch. The vet said maybe if the parents were a lop and dutch they could be brothers but she wasn't sure. Can anyone help?

Do they look like they should..ie does the lop look like a lop and vice versa? If so maybe they were just bought at the same time? I would have though a cross rabbit would have characteristics of both breeds? similar to a cross breed dog?

Can u put a photo of them up?

I have a lionhead bunny called bumble.

No, one is pure dutch and the other pure black lop. Guess the pet shop got it wrong. Oh well they love each other so not a problem. Thanks!

Hello theymay love each other now but they need to be seperated because as soon as they reach sexual maturity they will fight and fight till the death of either one or the other unless you are able to seperate in time.Rabbits in general do not get on with the same sex. Even if you have them both neutered its very unlikely that they will be able to live together in harmony have known a lot of people who have tried and although its been ok for a while they have always ended up fighting and causing each other harm. The only mix I know works is for a male neutered and a female spayed they will form a strong bond and will live together in harmony.
