Rabbit advice please.

for christmas my Niece got a gorgeous little bunny from the p@h adoption section, i havent had rabbits for a number of years so im well behind the times, so could anyone advise which is the safest VHD vaccination? and what age to start vaccinations for both vhd and myxi?

also they are considering getting her spayed but are really scared about the risks involved....does anyone know of any rabbit savvy vets in South Yorkshire? thank you.

Vaccinations can start from 5 weeks old with VHD and 10 weeks old for Myxi.
The safest vaccine so far is Lapinject or Anivac (steer clear of Cylap)

VHD and Myxi jabs need to be given 2 weeks apart, I would probably hold off on the Myxi for a little while and get her myxi vaccinated in around March when the insects start coming out again.

I can't advise on a vet as I'm not from the area, but with a good vet a spay is fairly low risk these days with huge health benefits (85% of does will contract uterine cancer by the age of 5)
Will she be getting a friend?
