Re: Baby bunnies

Just worth mentioning that she may build a nest even if she isn't pregnant....

Ok, so until I see babies I will keep the current ones in with her as she may build a nest but no babies appear! If she did mate again it was on 12th jan so if I'm right, she could show signs of building a nest from this weekend onwards and have the possible babies around 10th.

She won't harm the babies if she pulls at their fur to build a nest will she? Or if she gives birth again and they are also in the nest with her?

Please bare in mind that the babies (current litter and possible future litter) are not out of the woods yet, I don't want to scare you (but feel you need to be prepared for the worst) but if mum gets unsettled she "could" cull the babies at any stage if she feels threatened. Also due to the immense strain on her body she might not deliver live babies.

Im terrified now but know the current babies arent out of the woods just yet, thats why im so worried.

Its really stressful all of this, im constantly worrying about them and have a little bit of fear everytime i go to feed her, dreading shes harmed them

All i can do is keep my fingers crossed theyll be ok and also that shes not pregnant again.

Dads been neutered and mum is being spayed soon. Really cant do all this again, too stressful as lovely as it is to watch the babies everyday, theyre proper little bunnies now and i cant help but be attached to them!
