Re: Ladder issue
I know it might sound horrible but when mine have had a ramp for the first time, I give them a little push, pop them on it and keep pressure on their bums so they have to keep going up and cant turn back, then the same back down, I do it a couple of times and it seems to get them used to the idea. I also put rubber matting (car mats) on mine to give them grip and make it easier to get up and down.

Re: Ladder issue
With all my bunnies I've ended up removing the ramp and they just jumped up and down through the hole as they just ate the ramps and didn't use them. Might be worth a try. It also gives them extra floor space by taking out the ramp.

Re: Ladder issue
Rini never used a ramp properly. She could, I seen her do it, but she would normally try to jump straight from the bottom to the top and vise versa and I was just so scared that she'd hurt herself as it was quite a steep ramp, so now she has steps in her condo! She's a bit of a spack. XD
I have to say I would either give him a little "encouragement" or place him in the lower part so he can learn to go up the ramp first as going down might be scary! Or as mentioned, if you could remove the ramp and see if they can get down that way, even if you add a little step/stool under the hole so it's not such a big jump. That's also more exercise for them to jump up rather than walk up a ramp! |

Re: Ladder issue
Thanks for the tips... he still isn't using it, he will go up it ok though. I can't take it out as it's too high to jump up and down, I think that may be what is scaring him... I shall get him indoors to put a sort of 'rail' along it so he doesn't feel like he is going to fall..... wimp
