No veg days

My parents have my little old bun (I had to give him to them when I moved away ) and I was interested to read some of the advice for new rabbit owners about when to call the vet.

Harry is 7 and a half and probably once every couple of months (for all of his life) he has had a day when, for no obvious reason, he ignores his dish of veg (which he gets at tea time) and has a quiet day - often just sitting in his hutch and not going in the run. Often this coincides with one runny poo. He always has hay and straw and as we don't watch him 24/7 so it's possible he just nibbles that quietly.

He has regular vet checks/injections etc and is always given a clean bill of health. I just used to call it a 'digestion day', thinking maybe he has some kind of regular detoxing thing going on! It was so normal that when I gave him to my Mum 4 years ago, I told her not to worry too much when this happened as it only ever lasts a day. She does worry and I know she would take him straight to the vet if it went on longer than a day, but I was surprised to see it described as an emergency. But it's just a regular thing with him every couple of months.

Is this weird, then? I just gathered it was fairly normal as he has done it all his life (I got him at 2 months old)

He's a real cutie

I'm afraid this is not normal for any rabbit, there will be something going on to cause this.
Be it diet related or health related

It's a long time since I had a rabbit but I had him all my life, my first pet until he died when I was around 15. I can't remember his diet but he didn't have runny poos. He was great, he hated mess and would only use one corner of the hutch for the toilet. lol He taught himself to be litter trained. lol

Most rabbits will choose a "favourite" corner, which is why they are so easy to litter train
