General Cleaning Products

Hi, me again!

I have 2 rabbits that have the run of the kitchen and study, there's a tiled floor in the kitchen and I've been using a standard disinfectant to clean it, however, i've been informed this might be bad for the bunnies? I went to my local Pets at Home and they don't sell anything other than the sprays used for cleaning the hutches, cleaning the whole floor with with would not only take a ridiculous amount of time but at 3 quid a bottle would be rather expensive!

Does anyone know if its safe to carry on using the normal cleaner? or can anyone point me in the direction of something I can use or tell me what to avoid? I should note that its a generic brand opine disinfectant I use and NOT bleach.

Any advice appreciated
Paul.

Re: General Cleaning Products

So long as you rinse it after washing there is no reason why you can't continue to use normal disinfectant

I use bleach for my floors but make sure it is rinsed and dryed before the buns are allowed back on it

Re: General Cleaning Products

I do use the "Pet Safe" disinfectants but even those have to be dried thoroughly before the pets can walk on the surface albeit floor or worktops.

When I am doing the floor I sometimes unscrew the top but as a rule I spray and use a cloth mop. It doesn't take me any longer than using the flash spray fluid and mop.

I do go through a lot of the stuff I bought quite a lot when it was on offer buy one get one free.

I use white vinegar in hot water, kills bacteria and germs and is environmentally friendly and cheap.
