Worming

Do you think I should worm my rabbits? They are both one year old, I've had Archie since March, and Izzy since October. I've never wormed them before because there seems to be lots of different advice on how often they should be wormed and whether they should be wormed at all. I found out today my cat has worms, he's been treated with a dewormer and hasn't been near the rabbits so they can't have them, but I just wondered whether rabbits should be wormed or should they only ever be wormed if they actually have them?

Re: Worming

worming rabbits is VERY importnat, it is just as important that the are wormed twice a year as it is to make sure their vaccinations are up to date
rabbits dont tend to catch worms (it has been known but is rare) however worming for 28 days, bleaching the enclosure thoroughly on days 21 & 28 is the ONLY known way to kill EC parasites

EC is a truely nasty parasite and it is much better to be safe rather then sorry, if a rabbit does get EC it is a VERY long, hard and heart wrenching battle to try beat it, and can easily cost well over £500

Re: Worming

This is where I get confused as well as within the 10 years of owning rabbits I've never wormed them.
