Buddy jumped while I was administering his flea treatment...

...and some of the liquid dribbed over the front of one of his ears and little bit on the side of his face. It missed his eye and mouth. Talk about making a bad job of it! He seems fine, but I'm a little concerned that the liquid may be too close to his face and he could groom himself and consume some of it. I'm telling myself it'll be fine and the stuff dries and is absorbed quickly anyway.

He's always been OK when I've done this in the past, I guess something must have just spooked him this time.

Thanks for the reassurance! It is dry. Honestly, you'd think I'd never kept animals before! I'm used to doing this with my cat, but give me an unpredictable little bunny and I feel back to square one again!

Re: Buddy jumped while I was administering his flea treatment...

He's fine this morning, and appears to have forgiven me for last night's indignity!

He's never going to be a bunny who likes to be stroked and cuddled all the time, but I do need to work on getting him used to being handled a bit more and on my own confidence in doing this...

Re: Buddy jumped while I was administering his flea treatment...

I don't bother will flea treatment at this time of year. I would if my lad had fleas.

According to my vet the risk of a pet rabbit getting fleas is negligible. I concentrate more on protecting him from fly strike in the summer months tbh.

I would think Buddy will be fine, but I would keep an eye on him, just to be on the safe side.
