need a little advice on rabbit bonding
Hi there
I just joined this forum and I have my first problem with bonding. I have a maile lionhead lop neutered called Logan whos nearly 2 years old and a 10 month female lop called Jessica who's neutered as well. I have been trying to bond them for sometime now and having some problems in which I hope you can help. I have been introducing them in my bath tub as its a neutral territory for them both and at first Jessica was very scared of being near him, but in time she got very interested in Logan and moved closer to get to know him and groom which has been happening its on and off she seems to chew his eyes and eat the sleep but there has been occasions when he nips her as a sign of that hurt. but they have been grooming which is a result!. so I moved them to the hallway as a new area oh and just to let you know they were in the bath tub bonding for a week. and when we put them in the hallway Logan changed in a different way he keeps chasing Jessica and nipping her bum which large bits of her fur in Logans mouth. and Jessica is terrified thumping her back legs and hiding behind me so I got a spray bottle full of water as I had seen in other forums they recommended that so Logan can stop but if I put them back in the bath tub they are grooming each other as if nothing happened. Anyone know what it could be?? Thanks David |

Re: need a little advice on rabbit bonding
Fur pulling is all part of the bonding process, is the hallway neutral to both bunnies? By the sounds of it you have just increased the space too much.
I would stick them back in the bath until they are settled again and when you want to move them out put them in a 4ft x 3ft pen (maximum), there will be chasing and fur pulling to start with because they have moved areas but if you distract them it shouldn't last too long ![]()
