Re: Missing Millie so very much
I know what you mean. It breaks you everytime you lose a pet but you can't imagine life without having them.
When I lose one of mine I tend to get another pretty soon after. Its not that I'm replacing the lost one but that theres an empty hole and I want to give another animal a chance at a happy life. When I lost Charlie that broke my heart because he was my special boy and was like no other rabbit but I got George 4 days after. Most people said I was trying to replace Charlie but that wasn't the case I just needed to put my mind into looking after another rather than mope over my lost boy. The way Charlie went was hard as well and I spent a long time blaming myself and thinking I should have changed vets but the more I thought about it the more I realised that I couldn't change what had happened and to get it out of my system a made a video for him and put on youtube, which helped a lot. Charlie was the only one I didn't have PTS and thats what made it harder I think. When Sophie was PTS as well she was the only one I had at the time and every morning I automatically went out to feed Sophie. I went as far as getting her veg ready and once I'd opened the back door I would pause and break down realising she wouldn't be there. Thats why I got Rosie a month after losing Sophie, not to replace but to have someone to care for. People without pets just don't understand the love that can form and how they become more than just a pet. I just noticed this is a bit of an essay.

Re: Missing Millie so very much
its never easy to loose them, and theres nothing i can say to put your mind at ease and take away your pain, but there is one very important bit of information i want you to remember hun
if it doesnt hurt to loose them, you cant have loved them, and they all deserve to be loved the day it doesnt hurt to loose one, is the day i will stop having them hugs to you

Re: Missing Millie so very much
Thank you guys. I do intend to get another rabbit but not for a month or two. It also depends on the Assisi rescue and if they have any sick bunnies or disabled that I can take on. I don't think I could take a rabbit that needs injections or anything like that.
I haven't told a lot of people about my wanting to rescue sick or disabled bunnies from now on. I know I will get lecture upon lecture as people know just how sensitive I am and how it will kill me when they have to go to the vets as I worry and worry (just like any bunny mummy) As I have already said in another post - I I feel that this is what I want to do. S o I will contact Assisi in the next month or two and see what happens. Millie will always be missed by me. She was the most adorable little rabbit and I loved her very much. I love Pickles and Amos very much too but Millie was much more outgoing and friendly and I really liked that. The worse part of having pets is when they pass on ![]()

Re: Missing Millie so very much
I know it's going to be so tough to get some of the 'special' little bunnies, but I truly want to do it and I am sure the rescue will be delighted for some of their permanent residents to have a wonderful 'real' home. I am both terrified and excited lol.

Re: Missing Millie so very much
Jaxs I understand how you are feeling just thinking about the day I loose one of mine opens up a huge black hole, their personalities are very different but so perfect in their own way they are such characters and I wouldnt change them for the world, I can never imagine not having them and when one passes I wont be able to fill that hole it will stay with me, but I will always have pets I love nothing more than to care for them
