Saffy has gone downhill this last week while I was away! And sis in case you read this it is NOT your fault! She is not a very strong rabbit and all the others are looking great!

But yeah my sis found her with poo matted in with hay and fur to her bottom. Her fur is falling out in clumps...though think that is due to heavy moult. And she has lost a bit of weight again. It is the weightloss and sticky poo I am most worried about and these.

She is booked into the vets and needs positive vibes!

Yes eating and drinking and even producing formed droppings!!

She has cystitis so has a weeks anti-bs and some food enhancing supplement things. She is very lightweight But otherwise teeth are fine etc

If I am honest I am a little relieved...she looks really bad....though she is eating drinking bounding fine...but I was worried. Now to get the weight on her. What is best for this? I have supplementing stuff and she said pureed veg...does this mean pureed cooked veg? May sound stupid but I didn't think to ask lol! What is normal(ish!!!) weight for a mini lop? She was from a mini lop breeder. xx

barley rings are good for getting weight on
im not sure what she ment by pureed veg, maybe she ment veg baby foods? they are quite good, wheetabix are good too, as are shredded wheet

I asked about that....well she said about pureed veg so I asked about baby food and she said oh no they're high in sugar...esp the fruit ones....well I thought it was obvious I meant the veg ones lol! She said try pureed veg first but veg based baby food are ok. I don't have a blender so unless they were cooked I couldn't puree anything!!

Will get some more veg baby food tomorrow and wheetabix etc. Will look into barley rings. Thanks hun!

Ella's kitchen baby foods go down really well with my lot (including Jack). Another good one I found for the rabbits was Hipp organic vegetable medley.

My vet adviced against weetabix for weight gain when Daisy was really unwell. He said that weetabix is pretty much just fibre and although good for rabbits it will go straight through them rather than help bulk them up. Barley rings and porridge are good for weight gain though.
