How long before he starves himself?! Grr

I recently decided to change from burgess excel to Allen and page pellets. So I mixed just a few of the new ones into his excel as I know it's a slow gradual process to change them over. Thing is he just picks out the excel, he will not try the new food! I've cut his veg right back and not let him have grass. I've reduced his hay a little but not much. Seriously, it's been a week now and he's not touching them!
He is alert, lively and eating everything except the new feed. His teeth are fine so it's not that.
What do I do? Do I go really drastic for a few days and give him nothing but s small amount of mew feed? ie it's that or nothing? Not sure ....

Leo's the same I kept giving him hay and veggies they go downhill so fast from not eating and after throwing his food bowl over a few times and not eating them for a week he finally ate the new pellets

That's what gas stopped me being strict with him. Surely he'll eat them!?
I feel mean but it's bloomin good food! Haha. He's in great condition so a few days of being hungry wouldn't do much harm I don't think. I just feel like a bad mummy but with a bowl of food there and nothing else I'd hope he'd eat it eventually.
Only want him to eat a little bit as trying to be gradual.
What does anyone else think?

Maybe he just doesn't like the new food, bunnies can be as fussy as us when it comes to food!
Pellets aren't a 100% must in a rabbits diet, I know some people who only feed hay and veggies and their buns are healthy and fine.
Perhaps try a different pellet. I use wagg optimum and my 2 love it.

lol norty bun, I wouldn't cut his hay tbh as that is supposed to be the majority of their diet. He would be better going without pellets than hay.

I would just keep on at it and gradually reduce his excell, he will get the hang of it eventually

Even if it takes his best two year throwing a tantrum impression in the process . Veg is more important than pellets tbh

Re: How long before he starves himself?! Grr

with pellets it a weigh up of fiber content vs taste. Excel has less fiber and is there for more tasty. But dont worry he will eventually go mad for any pellet so long as thats the only one he gets, he'll soon forget all about excel.
