Re: thumper

I think there are a couple of problems here which are causing him to be miserable and sadly this is why many owners get fed up of them and they end up in rescue centres, or worse.

I would suggest the first thing is to to have him neutered. This should make a big difference.

How big is his hutch? He needs at least 6ft x 2ft x 2ft with access to a large run. Very minimum is 6ft x 4ft. There is no wonder he is feeling miserable if he is enclosed without any company, I think I would too.
Have you thought about getting a friend for him? I think this would make him much happier.

So, i'd say the main points

Large hutch with run - plenty of exercise and fresh air
Neutering
Consider rescuing a spayed female as a friend for him

There are lots of people here to give you brilliant advice. I am asking questions all the time.

I hope you can make these changes for him, it really is not fair being in a hutch alone and unhappy.

I am sure you will get more replies with helpful advice too. Good luck with it all.

Re: thumper

Jo-pop has pretty much said it all really!!

He needs to be neutered and this will calm him down.
If he's stuck in a hutch all alone for days on end then he must be so lonely and so bored, no wonder he's aggressive. This is no life for a rabbit.
He needs to be in at least a 6x2x2ft hutch with at least a 6x4ft run attatched for constant access so he can exercise when he wants.
He will need toys and tunnels to play with too.

Once you have him neutered you could think about getting him a wifey bun. He'll be a happy bunny then!

Re: thumper

Jo has pretty much said it all there

neutering him wouls be a huge benefit to him, and it will also allow you to find him a friend, rabbits are very social creatures and crave company, a life of isolation stuck in a hutch most of the time is no life for a bunny

Re: thumper

Also you say you didn't know you could get rabbits neutered. Does this mean you haven't researched anything about rabbits before buying one? As thats quite a well known fact now.

Did you know rabbits need two vaccines a year and to see a vet for a routine check up every 6 months?

Did you know they are very VERY sociable animals that NEED their own kind for company?

Do you know what a healthy diet is for a rabbit?

I would have a read of the stickies on this section, theres one with all you need to know on rabbit care Important information for new rabbit owners it was put together from all the information shared by members on this forum.
