To the person who let 'Bun' come into this cruel world...........



Did you think or give a second thought when your 2 little angels kept pestering you for a bunny each?

Did you think to go to a reputable breeder who knows her rabbit breeding programme and can give you information from generations back and avoid any heriditary conditions?

Did you think that getting a male and female from the local pet-shop may have come from the same litter and carry congenital defects?

Did you think about the space that is needed to house these 2 fluffy bunnies?

Did you think to visit a rescue centre and re-home a neutered bonded pair?

Did you think as your children lost interest, that to allow the 2 now adolescent buns to mate would be a good idea to make a few dollars for your new playstation game?

Did you not think that these bunnies would pass on their heridatory conditions to their babies causing pain, grief and an early end to their lives?

Did you think about providing the now pregnant bunny with all the nutrition and care that she needs?

Did you think about how you were going to find lifelong , loving homes for these new kits?

Did you think of the cost of any veterinary care for the expecting Mum or the cost of complications during birth?

Did you think of the cost of raising these babies and providing the essential food for growing?

Did you not think that the 2 that remained would now be getting on your nerves as 4 rabbits in a small hutch was beginning to smell and you had to get off you lazy butt and clean them as your 2 angels were now only interested in their DSIs'

Did you think when you couldn't even give them all away on a 'free advertising site' that dumping them in a box that someone would take over their care?

Did you not think that a fox or predator could have got to them first?






No of course you didn't think!!!!!! You have the brain matter the size of a pidgeon brain. You let these 'fluffy bunnies' mate and produce with no consideration to their health or well-being. You let these babies suffer. But no doubt you will go through the procedure over and over again!


Do you think I sound like a bitter, twisted old woman? Well yes I am bitter. I am also angry, upset, emotional, dismayed and broken-hearted.

I am the one that took on one of those dumped babies before Mr.Fox ripped them apart.

I am the one who nurtered, loved and cared for her.

I am the one who cried when I saw the pus dripping from her due to her congenital jaw condition.

I am the one that had to make the heart-wrenching decision to allow her to drift deeper into sleep until her tiny heart stopped.



Moral of the story?...........

Do not buy these pet shop buns. Go to a reputable breeder. Go to a rescue centre where there are many neutered buns awaiting homes. Do not think that breeding your rabbit at a whim will make a few dollars.

And most importantly NEUTER.

It's disgusting how neglected rabbits are. My neighbours bunny was kept in a tiny hutch in the garden. They left the poor thing out there all winter, poor thing died
